We "hiked" around the house, went cave exploring in the garage, and, of course, roasted marshmellows.
Not exactly getting back to nature, but the kids didn't seem to mind at all.
…people in my family. The first line of a favorite Sesame Street song perfectly fits our branch of the Jones clan. We’ve moved around a bit (AZ, NM, FL, CA) and hosted various combos of dogs, cats, snakes and fish, but the most recent additions are the ones we're most proud of: THREE BOYS! Stay tuned for more adventures!

OOOOOOOOOOOOh How I love It! What a post it brought me laughter and a little bit of sadness I truly do miss the Jones family!!
That's one of the things I miss a lot about having younger ones around. They'll go along with you and have a great adventure and not roll their eyes. Take advantage of their willingness - one of these days they will be 14!
How cute!! I love it..so i'm finally breaking down and buying some camping gear. Mike and I have never camped before. What would you recommend we buy other than a tent? I need help!!
How fun! There's nothing more fun than winging a family outing! Looks like the boys had tons of fun!
Great post!! What fun parents you are! And what great looking boys you have there! Miss you guys!!
That's too bad that the rain ruined your camping trip but it looks like you had a lot of fun at home! What a great idea! I think maybe we'll do that one of these nights with the girls!
I absolutely love it! I remember one time my dad camped in the backyard with the older kids, but I was too little, my mom didn't want me sleeping outside, who would have thought of doing it inside?!?
What a total blast! It's nice you can be flexible and adapt to the rain so your kids can have happy memories. We've been camping in Yellowstone twice when we got poured on, and once on a ward campout. Wet days (and leaky tents) are not much fun, especially with kids. Hope you get the chance to go for real in better weather :)
Yeah!! That's a great idea! We might have to steal this idea as one never knows when rain will ruin plans here in the Rockies!
